I know I can’t be the only one who saw the Occupy Wall Street monopoly game and thought it would be cool to see some costumed Star Wars fans play a game. Was I?

I’m catching up a little with Dr. Who this morning. I’m so behind. Fun show, crazy but often funny. It’s not quite got the same vibe of the old series, but it’s fun in it’s own way. I should be up to season three this afternoon.

What has you really fired up? What gets your juices flowing?

For me it’s usually fun stuff. Riding bikes with the family, swimming, going to a movie, etc. Sometimes it’s politics and the crazy stuff that happens. Besides regular salary how much do you think a politician makes? Quite a lot. And the non-elected Director-level folks in government often feel they should have the same perks that their Director level private company counterparts make, or even more than. So they authorize purchases of fancy computers, elegant offices, worldwide trips, homes and vehicles. It really can get you riled up, so I try to focus more of my energy on the bicycle rides to keep the blood pressure down. I really love my Zen-like brass bike bell. It’s very relaxing.

Isn’t it funny what some people are okay with?

I swear the week seems to slip by me so fast. I’ve got a pile of comics that need to be inked and lettered, but don’t have enough hands. I really wish they’d hurry up the cloning technology. A watch that could stop time would also help.

Tell me what you think of the new fonts. I wasn’t 100% happy with the style of previous comics and want to make it less rigid. Do you think it works? Any suggestions?

It’s very hot today. Too hot for this cold blooded man.

But the good thing was that it allowed me to stay in and finish today’s comic.
I’m working with dip pens more, trying to work on my technique. I don’t have enough experience with them and it’s hard to travel with the dip pens. But I did pick up the Noodler Ahab pen for a new traveling pen. The Ackerman pens are fun but leak too much for traveling. (Kind of defeats my purpose.)

Thankfully they come in many colors so I got a couple clear pens (allowing me to see the ink). Speaking of ink, unlike the Ackerman pen which uses regular India ink; the Noodler fountain pens have to use fountain pen ink. The best I’ve found for cartooning is Noodler’s Black Waterproof Fountain Pen Ink – Bulletproof. It’s nice for writing as well.

Back to work, I’m hoping to get another comic done today so I’m not late for the next update.
